Event Types

Event types are templates for the kinds of meetings you offer — a "15-minute intro" or a "60-minute deep dive." Set them up once and people book the right amount of time with you, no back-and-forth.

What are event types?

Pre-set, fully customizable meeting templates:

  • Customizable: create as many as you need, each with its own name, URL, duration, availability, and location (Zoom, Google Meet, and more).
  • Smart availability: bookers only see slots where you're truly free — Cal ID checks your connected calendars to prevent double-booking.
  • Example: an HR team might offer a "Job Interview" (30 min) and a "Performance Review" (60 min), each configured differently.

Create an event type

  1. Log in to Cal ID, open Event Types, and click + New.

  1. Choose Personal or Team (if you're not on a team, it defaults to personal).

  1. Fill in the basics in the pop-up:
  • Title (also becomes part of the URL)
  • Description (shown to bookers)
  • Duration (e.g., 15, 30, or 60 minutes)

  1. Click Continue to open the full editor, where you can fine-tune Event Setup, Availability, Limits & Buffers, Advanced, Workflows, Recurring, and Embed.

Preview your booking page

  • From Event Types: click the external-link icon next to the event URL to open the live page.

  • From the editor: click the Preview icon at the top right to see changes in real time.

Key benefits

  • Saves time — no "Are you free at 2 PM?" emails.
  • Flexible — toggle events on or off instantly.
  • Easy to share — each event has its own link to send or embed.
