Extended Timezone Availability

The Extended Timezone feature gives you ultimate control over global scheduling. Instead of forcing all of your booking slots to follow one single timezone, you can specify exactly which timezones can view and book specific time slots. Users trying to schedule a call can only see your availability if they are located in the timezones you have selected for that specific slot.

How It Works?

When you share your booking link with a client, Cal ID performs a smart check in the background to ensure the right slots match the right user:

  1. Location Detection: The moment a client opens your booking page, Cal ID automatically detects their local timezone based on their web browser settings or geographic location.
  2. Rule Matching: Cal ID instantly looks at the time slot rules you created on your Cal ID dashboard
  3. Smart Filtration:
  • If the client’s detected timezone matches the timezone you assigned to a slot, that slot is displayed on their screen perfectly converted to their local time.
  • If the client’s timezone does not match your rule, Cal ID completely hides that slot from their view. To them, it will simply look like you are busy or unavailable during those hours.

Step-by-Step Configuration

Step 1: Adding Multiple Time Slots

You can break your day down into multiple distinct slots if you want to offer different windows of availability throughout the day.

  • To add a new slot to a day, simply click the plus (+) icon next to the time inputs.

Step 2: Assigning Timezones to Individual Slots

  • Next to your time slots, you will see a small Globe Icon.
  • Click the Globe Icon on a specific time slot to open up the timezone selection dropdown menu.

  • Select the specific timezone(s) from the list that you want to target for that time slot. You can select multiple timezones for a single slot if you are targeting entire global regions (such as combining multiple US or European time zones).

Step 3: Save Your Settings

  • Once you have mapped your time slots to your chosen target audiences, click the blue Save button in the top right corner to push your changes live.

Real-World Examples to Better Understand

Here are two strong scenarios demonstrating exactly how you can implement this feature to manage cross-border clients without stretching your working hours thin:

Example 1: Splitting Local and International Work hours

The Scenario:
Imagine your total availability for Monday spans from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM in your local dashboard, but you want to dedicate different parts of your day to domestic and international clients.

  • Slot 1 (10:00 AM – 7:00 PM): You set up your first slot for normal business hours. You click the Globe Icon on this slot and select exclusively Asia/Kolkata. Now, users outside India won't see this daytime slot.
  • Slot 2 (7:00 PM – 11:00 PM): You add a second evening slot for your international audience. You click its Globe Icon and choose America/New_York (EST) or America/Los_Angeles (PST).

The Result: When a client in Mumbai opens your booking link, they only see options between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. When a client in New York opens the exact same link, they are only presented with evening options matching their morning/afternoon comfort window.

Example 2: Targeting Specific Global Regions Throughout Your Day

The Scenario:
Let's say you are a consultant based in London and you provide specialized strategy sessions. You want to focus on European corporate clients in your morning and Australian partners in your afternoon.

  • Slot 1 (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM): You click the Globe Icon and check Europe/London and Europe/Berlin. This ensures your morning is reserved purely for localized European operations.
  • Slot 2 (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM): You add an afternoon slot, click its Globe Icon, and select Australia/Sydney and Australia/Melbourne.

The Result: Your calendar automatically sections off your client groups, ensuring no global cross-booking overlaps or confusion!

Why Use Extended Timezones?

  • Zero Timezone Math: Stop manually calculating time changes before sending links out. Cal ID filters the slots automatically based on the booker's geographic IP or browser timezone location.
  • Control Your Energy: Protect your calendar by making sure you only talk to specific international markets during the precise windows you have chosen to work.
