Date Overrides or Set Unavailable

Date overrides let you change your hours for a specific day — or block it entirely — without changing your regular weekly routine. Pick any date you're normally available and set custom hours, or mark yourself unavailable. Taking Thursday afternoon off? Add an override just for that day.

When to use this

  • Taking a day off — a holiday or personal day.
  • A one-time commitment — you're busy for a couple of hours on a specific day.
  • Special hours — you want to work reduced hours on a holiday.

How to add an override

  1. Open Availability and click the schedule you want to adjust.
  2. Scroll to the Date Overrides section at the bottom.

  1. Click + Add an override and pick the date on the calendar.
  2. Set what happens that day:
  • Busy all day: toggle on Mark unavailable (all day).
  • Different hours: choose the hours you're free for that day only.

  1. Click Save Overrides, then click Save at the top of the page.

How it works

  • Overrides take priority. If your weekly schedule says you're free but an override says busy, Cal ID shows you as busy.
  • They're temporary. Once the date passes, your calendar returns to its normal weekly schedule automatically.
