# Secret or Private Events

A **secret event** is a hidden meeting type. Your standard events appear on your public profile for anyone to see — a secret event stays invisible until you share its direct link.

| What is a secret event?

* **Hidden from your profile:** it does *not* appear on your public booking page (e.g., `cal.id/username`).
* **Direct link only:** only people with the exact event link can book it.
* **Use cases:** VIP clients, private consultations, or internal team meetings you don't want the public to see.

| Manage visibility

Use the visibility toggle on the event:

* **ON (visible):** the event shows on your public profile.
* **OFF (hidden):** the event is secret and hidden from your profile.

You'll find the toggle in two places:

* **Event Types list** — the switch on the right of each event card.

* **Edit page** — the toggle at the top right, next to **Save**.

| Share a secret event

Since it's hidden, share the direct link: open **Event Types**, click the **copy link** icon next to the secret event's URL, and send it (e.g., `cal.id/username/vip-meeting`) to your guest.

> **Note:** guests can't discover a secret event from your public page without the direct link. In your dashboard, secret events carry a **Hidden** badge.
