# Only Show the first slot of each day as available

The **Only show the first slot of each day as available** setting limits an event to a single booking per day — the earliest open slot.

| Why use it

* **Protect deep work:** keep the rest of your day free for focused tasks.
* **Control daily load:** never more than one of this event type per day — great for intensive consultations or workshops.
* **Consistency:** handle external meetings at the start of your day automatically.

| Set it up

1. Open **Event Types** and click the event.
2. Open the **Limits** tab.
3. Toggle **Only show the first slot of each day as available** **ON**.
4. Click **Save**.

| How it works

Guests only see the earliest available slot each day. Once it's booked, the rest of that day is hidden — limiting you to one appointment per day at your earliest free time.

> **Note:** this is all-or-nothing per day. To allow more than one but still cap the count, use [Limit booking frequency](https://help.cal.id/en/article/limit-booking-frequency-1br80ts/) instead.
