# Minimum Notice for the Booking

**Minimum Notice** stops guests from booking a slot too close to the current time, giving you lead time to prepare.

| Why use it

* **Avoid surprises:** no meetings popping up while you're already busy.
* **Prep time:** review notes or research a guest before the call.
* **Peace of mind:** know your day won't change at the last minute.

| Set it up

1. Open **Event Types** and click the event.
2. Open the **Limits** tab.
3. In **Minimum Notice**, enter the lead time in minutes, hours, or days (e.g., `120` minutes = no bookings in the next 2 hours).

4. Click **Save**.

| What the booker sees

If it's 2:00 PM with a 1-hour notice, guests only see slots from 3:00 PM onward — the 2:00–3:00 window is hidden even if you're technically free.

| 💡 Tip

Many users set a **12- or 24-hour notice** so their schedule for the day is locked in each morning.
