# Managing Your Cal ID Account Password

How to set or change your password depends on how you created your Cal ID account.

| Open password settings

1. Log in to [Cal ID](https://cal.id/home).
2. Go to **Settings** from the left sidebar.
3. Click [**Password**](https://cal.id/settings/security/password) in the left-hand menu.

| If you signed up with Google

If you created your account with **Sign in with Google**, you haven't set a Cal ID password yet.

* You'll see: **"Your account is managed by Google."**
* To create a password:
1. Click **Create account password**.
2. Open the email Cal ID sends to your primary address.
3. Click the link inside to set your new password.

| If you already have a password

If you signed up with email and password (or set one previously), you can change it here.

1. Enter your current password in **Old password**.
2. Enter your new password in **New password**.
3. Click **Update**.
