# How to Get Notified on Slack When an Event is Booked?

Get instant alerts where you already work. By connecting **Cal ID** to **Slack** via **Zapier**, **Pabbly**, **Make**, or **ViaSocket**, you'll know the moment a booking happens — no need to watch your email.

| Why use this

* **Instant alerts:** know immediately when a new client books you.
* **Team sync:** post notifications to a shared channel.
* **One place:** track new bookings, reschedules, and cancellations without leaving Slack.

| Step 1: Install an automation app in Cal ID

1. Log in to Cal ID and open the **App Store**.
2. Find **Zapier** (or your automation tool) and click **Install**.
3. **Generate** the API key and **copy** it.

| Step 2: Create the automation (Zap)

Log in to [Zapier](https://zapier.com) and build it in three steps.

**Trigger — when this happens:**

* **App:** Cal ID
* **Event:** Booking Created
* **Account:** connect your Cal ID account (paste your API key if asked)

**Action — do this:**

* **App:** Slack
* **Event:** Send Channel Message (to alert a team) or Send Direct Message (just you)
* **Message:** write your alert, using **Insert Data** to include the booker's name and meeting time.

**Finish:** click **Test** to see a sample message in Slack, then **Publish**.

| Other useful triggers

Create separate Zaps for these events too:

* **Booking Rescheduled** — get an alert if a client moves the meeting.
* **Booking Cancelled** — know instantly when a slot frees up.
