# Hide Calendar Event details on Shared Calendars

**Hide calendar event details on shared calendars** shows your availability while keeping the who/what/why of your meetings private on shared calendars.

| Why use it

* **Client confidentiality:** teammates see "Busy," not a client's name or meeting title.
* **Professional boundaries:** personal or internal details stay hidden.
* **Compliance:** helps in healthcare, law, or finance where details must stay private.
* **Cleaner shared views:** others see only what they need — free or busy.

| Set it up

1. Open **Event Types** and click the event.
2. Open the **Advanced** tab.
3. Toggle **Hide calendar event details on shared calendars** **ON** and **Save**.

| How it works

* **Shared view:** your appointment shows as a generic **Busy** / **Booked** block.
* **Your view:** you still see full details on your own calendar and in Cal ID.
* **Email:** all details still arrive in your confirmation email.
* **Attendee:** the guest still gets their own full confirmation — this only restricts what *others* see on your shared calendar.

> **Tip:** pair it with [Hide notes in calendar](https://help.cal.id/en/article/hide-notes-in-calendar-1tz35vu/) to also strip booking-question answers from the entry.
