# Disabling Default Confirmation Emails for Attendees in Cal ID

By default, Cal ID emails attendees a confirmation once they book. You can disable it and send your own via a custom **workflow** instead.

> **Requirement:** you can only turn this on if at least one **workflow** is active on the event type that sends a booking confirmation to attendees — so bookers still get confirmed.

| Set it up

1. Open **Event Types** and click **Edit** on the event.
2. Open the **Advanced** tab.
3. Scroll to **Disable default confirmation emails for attendees** and toggle it **ON**.

4. Click **Save**.
