# Disable Rescheduling and Cancelling

**Disable Cancelling** and **Disable Rescheduling** make an appointment final — removing the ability for guest *and* organizer to change or void a confirmed meeting.

| Why use it

* **Ensure commitment:** for high-demand or tightly scheduled events.
* **Reduce admin churn:** guests contact you directly for exceptions instead of leaving sudden empty slots.
* **Protect paid sessions:** a paid, confirmed slot stays filled.
* **Fixed windows:** perfect for workshops, webinars, or one-time events.

| Set it up

1. Open **Event Types** and click the event.
2. Open the **Advanced** tab.
3. Toggle **Disable Cancelling** and/or **Disable Rescheduling** **ON**.
4. Click **Save**.

| How it works

* The **Cancel** and **Reschedule** links are removed from the guest's confirmation email and calendar invite.
* If the guest has a Cal ID account, the buttons disappear from their **Bookings** tab too.
* The meeting time is locked — no self-service changes.

> **Warning:** this applies to **both** organizer and guest — you also lose the ability to cancel or reschedule from your dashboard or calendar links. Use it only when the meeting must stay fixed.
