# Delete the Event Type

In [Cal ID](https://cal.id/home), **Delete** permanently removes a meeting link you no longer need, keeping your dashboard clean and preventing bookings on a retired service.

| Why delete

* **Tidy up:** remove old or test events.
* **Stop new bookings:** retire a service you no longer offer.
* **Kill old links:** links shared in past emails or posts stop working.

| How to delete

1. Log in to [Cal ID](https://cal.id/home) and open **Event Types**.
2. Click the **three dots (…)** on the event and select **Delete** (shown in red).

3. Confirm in the pop-up to permanently remove it.

> **Warning:** deletion is permanent and can't be undone. It does **not** remove meetings already on your calendar — it only stops *new* bookings of that type.
