# Create Availability in Cal ID

Your **availability schedule** is the foundation of your calendar. By defining your active hours, you stay in full control of your time — meetings only happen when you're free, and your personal time stays protected.

You can give each event type its own schedule, reuse one schedule across several, or share a single schedule everywhere — whatever keeps your event types organized.

| Set up your availability

|| Open Availability

On your dashboard, open **Availability** from the left-hand menu.

|| Create or edit a schedule

You're not limited to one set of hours — create **multiple schedules** for different needs.

* **New schedule:** click **+ New** and give it a name.
* **Edit a schedule:** click the schedule's name to open it.

|| Confirm your timezone

Check the **timezone** at the top of the page before setting hours, so booked times line up with your local clock.

|| Set your weekly hours

* **Toggle days on or off** with the switch next to each day.
* **Set your times** — for example, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
* **Add a break** by clicking the **+** icon to add a second slot on the same day. For example, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00 PM–5:00 PM keeps you unbookable from 12:00–1:00.

Click **Save**. Your schedule is ready to link to your event types.
