# Canceling and Rescheduling Bookings

Cal ID gives you full control over your scheduled appointments — cancel a meeting, pick a new time yourself, or ask the attendee to choose one. Attendees can also manage their own bookings from their inbox if you allow it. Any change automatically emails an update to both sides.

| For the host

|| Method A: from the Bookings tab

1. Click **Bookings** in the left sidebar.
2. Find the booking under **Upcoming** and click the **three dots (…)** on the right.
3. Choose your action:
* **Reschedule booking** — pick a new date and time, add an optional reason, and confirm.
* **Cancel event** — add an optional cancellation note and confirm.
* **Request reschedule** — emails the attendee a private link to pick a new time.

|| Method B: from the Unified Calendar

1. Click **Calendar** in the left sidebar.
2. **Reschedule** by dragging the meeting block to a new day or time.
3. **Cancel** by clicking the block, then **Cancel**, adding an optional reason, and confirming.

| For the attendee

Attendees don't need a Cal ID account — they manage the booking from email:

1. Open the booking confirmation email (or a reminder).
2. Find the **Reschedule** or **Cancel** links inside.
3. **Reschedule** opens your booking page to pick a new slot; **Cancel** lets them submit a reason and free the slot.

> **Note:** these links only appear if you've enabled rescheduling and cancellation in the event type's settings. If they're off, the attendee must contact you directly.
