# Allow Rescheduling Past Events

**Allow rescheduling past events** lets guests change a meeting even after its scheduled time has passed.

| Why use it

* **Handle no-shows gracefully:** a guest who missed can reuse their original link to find a new time.
* **Recover opportunities:** keep the rescheduling channel open past the original window.
* **Less admin:** no manually sending new links.

| Set it up

1. Open **Event Types** and click the event.
2. Open the **Advanced** tab.
3. Toggle **Allow rescheduling past events** **ON** and **Save**.

| How it works

Normally the **Reschedule** link expires once a meeting's time passes. With this on, the link stays active — clicking it takes the guest to your calendar to pick a new upcoming slot, and you both get a fresh confirmation.

> **Note:** this is different from [Allow booking through reschedule link](https://help.cal.id/en/article/allow-booking-through-rescheduled-link-17bgl72/), which covers *cancelled* meetings. Many users enable both.
