# Add Events to Calendar

In **Cal ID**, **Add events to calendar** controls which of your connected calendars stores a specific event type's bookings. By default new bookings go to your primary calendar, but you can override that per event type.

| Why use it

* **Organization:** send "Work," "Side Projects," and "Personal" bookings to the right calendar.
* **Team management:** direct a shared team calendar instead of your private one.
* **Visibility:** keep the most relevant calendar populated.

| Set it up

1. Open **Event Types** and click the event.
2. Open the **Advanced** tab.
3. In the **Add events to calendar** dropdown, pick the connected calendar (Google, Outlook, or Apple).
4. Click **Save**.

| How it works

* **Automatic:** on booking, Cal ID adds the event to the calendar you chose.
* **Conflict checking:** it still checks **all** connected calendars to avoid double-booking.
* **Independent:** the setting for one event type doesn't affect others.

| 💡 Tip

For a global default across all event types, set a primary calendar under `/settings/calendars`.
